District Nursing Team

Contact telephone number: 01425 283249

The District nursing at Highcliffe is run by Sister Julie Hunter and her team. They provide quality nursing care in your home, a service available to those who are housebound either temporarily or permanently.

This team of nurses provide support and advice to patients and their carers, helping them remain independent.

Except in the case of emergencies the district nurses can be contacted at the surgery on the telephone number above.

Joint Injections

Steroid injections are commonly used for the treatment of joint and soft tissue disorders. Steroids have been shown to be helpful for easing pain and reducing inflammation.

Minor Surgery

Minor surgery clinics are held upstairs at Highcliffe Medical Centre. Patients have to be seen by a GP first, and if suitable, may be asked to make an appointment for Minor Surgery.

Social Prescribing

Social prescribing, sometimes referred to as community referral, is a means of enabling GPs, nurses and other primary care professionals to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services.

Recognising that people’s health is determined primarily by a range of social, economic and environmental factors, social prescribing seeks to address people’s needs in a holistic way. It also aims to support individuals to take greater control of their own health.

Social prescribing clinics will run on a Thursday afternoon in the private clinic and appointments are all pre-bookable. Patients aged 18+ are encouraged to make use of this free service. Please speak to a member of the Highcliffe Team for more information by calling 01425 272 203.
