Ear Irrigation

Whilst ear wax is normal and provides protection for your ears, for some people it can start to affect hearing and ear irrigation may be necessary. Ear wax can usually be managed without syringing or irrigation, please click the link below for more information:

Practice policy requires all patients to have an ear check prior to irrigation to allow an appropriately trained clinician to determine whether or not ear irrigation is necessary. In some cases, problems caused by ear wax can be solved through less invasive methods and irrigation is not needed. Ear irrigation appointments are not currently available at Highcliffe Medical Centre due to the Covid pandemic.
