Private weight loss surgery /Bariatric surgery

As per local guidelines set by our ICB, patients who choose to go abroad or seek private weight loss surgery in this country are not covered for any post-surgical follow up by their NHS GP.

This follow up is a specialist service, and you will need to seek private follow up.

There is no funding to receive this follow up with your GP and this is why the NHS is pushing back. You are welcome to discuss this further directly with the ICB if you wish to do so.
